Nuno inspires his new side to a battling point as Bowen strikes to give Hammers a share

- BY JOE THOMAS

A MONTH is a long time in football.

On the last day of August, West Ham beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 and Nuno Espirito Santo was sent packing from the City Ground just over a week later.

Fast forward to last night and Nuno guided the Hammers to their first point since that day.

Brought in on Saturday following the sacking of Graham Potter, former Forest boss Nuno immediately got the West Ham faithful believing again.

It was less than three years ago that the man in the opposite dugout, David Moyes, led the Hammers to their greatest success by winning the Europa Conference League. It is a very different scenario in east London now but Jarrod Bowen's second-half strike, which cancelled out Michael Keane's header, certainly gives Nuno something to build on.
