Douglas-Taylor at the double in Bohs romp

- BY PAUL O'HEHIR

TAYLS NEVER FAILS

DOUGLAS JAMES-TAYLOR fired Bohemians back to winning ways as the Gypsies belatedly bagged the goals their dominant display deserved.

They hadn't won in four games coming into this clash against the bottom side, and were dumped out of the FAI Cup here by Sligo Rovers last week.

So the three points are a timely shot in the arm and maintain their second-placed position in the table, as they chase down a European finish.

Cork City could have buckled under relentless first-half pressure but were always hanging on at 1-0 and put up more of a fight after the break.

Bohs ought to have been out of sight but Conor Brann was excellent in the Rebels goal and ensured his team stayed in the scrap for as long as they did

But James-Taylor ended any sniff they had of a point with a superbly executed second with five minutes remaining, before Dawson Devoy capped the win in injury-time.
