STRIFE IS A ROLLER COASTER

Ups and downs a feature of season as Gypsies are derailed by Blues following highs of Dubs derby treble
WE should have seen it coming. One team coming into this one on a hot-streak back-to-back injury-time derby wins - and the other with seven defeats in their last eight games.
So, in this topsy-turvy season, there was only going to be one winner.
Perhaps Waterford, fresh from a run that cost their former Bohemians boss Keith Long his job, seeing off Bohs, buoyant after last-gasp winners against Shamrock Rovers and St Pat-rick's Athletic, should be viewed as a predictable outcome in this most unpredictable of seasons.
Because, 13 games into this glori-ously turbulent campaign, we should be used by now to outcomes that make little sense.
It's also worth noting that Water-ford's seven-game losing run began with a 3-0 home defeat to last night's hosts, adding to the unlikely nature of last night's outcome.

Expect a rule of Laur
NEWSBOY'S ITV SELECTIONS POET LAUREATE gets the vote to make the most of the weight he receives from rivals in the Fitzdares Sovereign Handicap Hurdle (3.35) at Windsor. The form of his two-and-three-quarter-length defeat of Phoenix Risen at Wincanton nine days before Christmas needs improving on, but the Chris Gordon trainee has plenty more to come. Nemean Lion defends his title in the Weatherbys Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide Hurdle (3.00), but preference is for ALTOBELLI, for whom conditions are tailor made. LARGY FORCE is also at her best when the mud is flying, and a 2lb rise for a score at Uttoxeter may not be enough to prevent the follow-up in the Fitzdares Mares' Handicap Chase (2.25). He'll go off at cramped odds for the Grade 2 Fitzdares Your Personal Bookmaker Lightning Novices' Chase (1.50) but BE AWARE should make no mistake.
