Wife Penny tells of star's U-turn over more kids

Rod Stewart would do anything for wife Penny Lancaster and over the years, he has proved it time and again.

In her new book, Penny tells how the rock star quit drugs and U-turned on a vow not to have more kids.

He even got down on the knee he damaged while playing football to propose when he had insisted he wouldn't walk down the aisle again.

Penny, 54, says in her memoir that she doesn't like to think she "tamed him", instead preferring to see their relationship as "nurtured".

But Sir Rod has certainly mellowed during their 26-year partnership.

TV personality and former model Penny recalls how she was upset when he was photographed with model Caprice Bourret in 1999. With their relationship still in its infancy, she told him: "If you want to date all these women, go ahead, but it's not for me."

After she laid down her ground rules, Rod replied: "OK, let's give it go." But he added: "Don't think you're going to be the next Mrs Stewart.
