Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky is said to have agreed most of a 19-point peace plan, revamping a US-Russia proposal.

Ukraine hopes Mr Zelensky can visit the US “at the earliest suitable date” this month.

While the White House has not commented on a proposed Trump-Zelensky meeting, it has said more talks will be needed to cement a deal to end the conflict, which has claimed tens of thousands of lives.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Keir Starmer held talks with 36 nations working to secure peace and stressed Ukraine still needs military and financial support, despite positive moves towards a potential ceasefire.

He said: “We must never lose sight as we strive for a ceasefire, and a just and lasting peace, that we must support Ukraine right now. It is a big mistake, in my view, to take our eye off the ball and focus only on the future. We must support Ukraine now”

Earlier, he told MPs:

“Last night as a family, we celebrated my daughter's 15th birthday.
