Orionis to belt rivals
Irish Daily Mirror
|September 03, 2025
NEWSBOY'S DAILY DOUBLE ORIONIS (nap) is taken to secure her third win of the campaign in the EBF Fillies' Handicap (4.20) at Bath this afternoon.
DERBY runner-up Lazy Griff is without a jockey after Christophe Soumillon jumped off the Betfred St Leger third favourite.
The Belgian had been booked for the mount since July but his plans have changed after he was called up by Aidan O’Brien to fill in while Ryan Moore is sidelined. As a result Soumillon (right) is set to ride for O’Brien at Leopardstown, where Delacroix will be the star runner in the Irish Champion Stakes on the same day as the Doncaster Classic.
