Gorman, 74, gets suspended sentence over cannabis stash
A NURSING home resident has received a two-year suspended sentence for possessing a large quantity of cannabis, which he told gardai he was using to treat his gout.
Eugene Gorman, 74, of Weathertop, Delgany, Co Wicklow, was convicted of a charge of possession of drugs for sale and supply at his home on March 9, 2023, contrary to Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977.
A sitting of Wicklow Circuit Criminal Court heard the accused has been living in a nursing home in Kilcoole, Co Wicklow, since May.
