Championship clubs have rolled the dice and there's an entire fresh team of managers this weekend

NO fewer than 11 clubs will kick off the new Championship season this weekend with a fresh face in the dugout. Gone are the likes of Michael Carrick, Chris Wilder and Ruud van Nistelrooy, as almost half of the Premier League-chasing hopefuls roll the dice ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. But who are the men tasked with overturning their club's fortunes? DARREN WELLS looks at who's been hired and how their CV stacks up for the rollercoaster ride ahead.

BRISTOL CITY - Gerhard Struber (replacing Liam Manning)

Former Barnsley boss produced great escape in 2020 before leaving for MLS. Effectively led Cologne back up to the Bundesliga last season before shock sacking with two games to go. Playoff semifinalists will expect strong start.

HULL - Sergej Jakirovic (replacing Ruben Selles)

Bosnian coach, 48, is set for first taste of English football. Title-winning manager in his homeland and in Croatia with Champions League pedigree. Guided last club Kayserispor to safety and experience of a relegation battle could be necessary at Hull.
