Irishman tells trial how he booked a flight home

- BY ALANA LOFTUS in Boston

AN Irish firefighter accused of rape “panicked” and booked a flight home after being quizzed by US cops.

Terence Crosbie, who has pleaded not guilty, took the stand yesterday in Boston. He described the dread he felt after being accused of raping a woman in the Omni Parker Hotel in March 2024.

The Dubliner added: "I said, 'I'm not staying here, I'm out of here.'" The trial has already heard he couldn't be matched to DNA recovered from the victim.

RAPE-accused firefighter Terence Crosbie said he felt like a “like a rabbit in the headlights” after being sought out by police before he “hit the panic button” and booked a flight home.

Dubliner Terence Crosbie took the stand yesterday at Suffolk Superior Court in Boston, and described the dread he felt after being accused of raping a woman in the Omni Parker Hotel in the early hours of March 15, 2024.

Crosbie said he awoke the following morning to a call from Liam O'Brien, with whom he was sharing a room. O'Brien said detectives were in the lobby downstairs looking to speak with him.
