Quinn family's veteran is back on his favoured turf looking well handicapped

EMPIRESTATEOFMIND shouldn't be underestimated for his turf return in the William Hill Bet £10 Get £10 Spring Mile Handicap (1.50) at Doncaster this afternoon.

While the John and Sean Quinn trainee has yet to get his head in front in eight starts on the all-weather, his 6-31 strike rate on turf is impressive, particularly for a horse who regularly plies his trade in big-field handicaps.

The latest victory came against 15 rivals at York in October, when Empirestateofmind edged out Thunder Roar by a nose.

My selection wasn't discredited as the 9-2 favourite when sixth in a valuable event at the Curragh the following month before four handicap defeats during the all-weather season.
