Guardiola sees a big future for Nunes in a new defensive role
PEP GUARDIOLA is backing Matheus Nunes to become one of the best right-backs in England as the former Wolves star seeks another big moment against Aston Villa.
Nunes struggled to break into the Manchester City midfield when he arrived from Molineux in the summer of 2023, but did get opportunities last season at right-back amid injuries and the unexpected January departure of Kyle Walker.
Guardiola initially turned to Rico Lewis and Abdukodir Khusanov for that position this season, but an injury to the Uzbek saw Nunes back into the fold and he has not looked back since.
