Sniping at Drogs just fires us up says Dennison

- BY PAUL O'HEHIR

AS a goalkeeper, there's very little that Luke Dennison doesn't hear when it's roared at him from rival fans directly behind him.

But he enjoys the craic, and particularly so when it's “haters, hating on Drogheda United” for punching above their weight and hanging tough time after time.

FAI Cup holders - and into the quarterfinals this year - and a point off second spot in the league, it's clearly no fluke that Kevin Doherty's men are where they are.

Drogheda had European football ripped away from them this summer because of UEFA's multi-club ownership rules, but they're determined to get back there by right. And as Dennison says ahead of tonight's clash with St Pat's, they will do it by any means necessary even if it gets under some people's skin.

Dennison told Mirror Sport: “There are a lot of Drogheda haters out there, but that's part of the game and I love it.
