Government bans Al apps being used to draft policies
CHATGPT and other Al apps are being banned in a Government department over fears workers could use them to cut corners or get help with writing legislation.
The Irish Mirror has seen a memo for staff at the Department of Agriculture which provides new guidelines in the wake of the arrival of ChatGPT and similar technologies.
It specifically names ChatGPT as one of the "Generative AI services" that should not be used in the course of official business.
And it specifically warns staff not to "rely on Gen AI to assist in designing or drafting Government policy".
