Leitrim situation leaves a sour taste all round

IT was a really bad weekend for all involved with Leitrim football.

It's almost unimaginable that a county cannot field a team due to injuries and a midweek U20 competition.

But that's where Leitrim found themselves this week.

I listened to their manager Steven Poacher on Off the Ball earlier in the week. While he did mention the injuries he had and the fact they have six members of their U2O squad on the senior panel, he never once hinted that the weekend's game might be in doubt.
