THE jury went out last night in Boston in the case of firefighter Terence Crosbie - accused of the rape of a woman during a trip to Boston for the St Patrick's Day parade in March 2024.

The prosecution said Crosbie is “someone who did a terrible, terrible thing to another person simply because he wanted to, and he thought that he could”.

The prosecution accused Irish firefighter Terence Crosbie of slipping up on the stand yesterday, accusing him of trying to correct himself, but it was “too late’.

During closing arguments in Suffolk Superior Court yesterday, Assistant District Attorney Erin Murphy said Crosbie tried to convince the court he did not typically use the word friend, quoting him the day prior saying, “It's mate’ in relation to a question about the alleged victim's statement.

The 29-year-old woman who accused Crosbie of rape said that in the early hours of March 15, 2024, after returning to the Omni Parker House hotel with Liam O’Brien, she awoke to a man penetrating her, and telling her it was “pathetic” that “his friend couldnt give that” calling him a “loser”.

Yesterday, as the Dublin fireman took the stand, his defence team asked him, “Mr Crosbie, would you generally use the term friend?”
