Tipp title retained for first time in club's history as the McGrath boys shine

- BY STEPHEN BARRY

DAFT Punk's ‘One More Time’ rang out at the final whistle as LoughmoreCastlein’y retained the Tipperary SHC title for the first time in the club's history against Nenagh Eire Og yesterday.

Both sides coughed up freakish goals to long-range frees, but it was Liam McGrath who struck the killer blow in the 48th minute in front of 6,073 fans at Semple Stadium.

The captain earned man-ofthe-match honours for his 1-3 tally, while cousin John McGrath scored 1-5 from frees.

The defeat marked Nenaghs sixth successive county-final defeat since their 1995 breakthrough.

Having missed their semi-final with a shoulder injury, Nenaghis Mikey Heffernan was passed fit to start his fifth Tipp SHC final. He would end with 1-8 to his name.
