IT WAS ALWAYS AJAX FOR DOL

COLLAPSED Anderlecht’s Kasper Dolberg turned down a move to Celtic and instead opted for a return to his former club Ajax
KASPER DOLBERG'S agent has lifted the lid on the player's decision to turn down a deadline day move to Celtic in favour of returning to Ajax.
The Denmark international emerged as a transfer target for the Hoops in the final days of the summer window, with Brendan Rodgers desperate to bolster his forward options after agreeing a £7million deal to sell Adam Idah to Swansea.
However, despite their interest, it was Eredivisie giants Ajax who won the race to land the Anderlecht star's signature, with the 27-year-old rejoining the Amsterdam club six years after he left them to sign for Nice in a £17m deal.
Dolberg was said to be unconvinced by Celtic's proposal, with supporters left furious over the failure to bring in a big money centre forward.
