Sonia on not returning to Ireland's Fittest Family as coach
ATHLETICS star Sonia O'Sullivan has broken her silence at not returning to Ireland's Fittest Family as a coach.
RTE announced a major shakeup to the format of the show, which is hosted by Laura Fox.
The programme will see new coaches Ellen Keane, Michael Darragh MacAuley and Andrew Trimble take on old coaches Anna Geary, Donncha O'Callaghan and Davy Fitzgerald on this season's show.
But speaking to us, Sonia said: "Yeah, I'm not actually in it this year. It's new coaches and old coaches. So, yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks this year.
"Because I'm not an old coach and I'm not a new coach. I was in the middle, you know. So there's a whole new format. So it's the originals, the OGs, and the newbies.
"It was great. We did have a lot of good fun. There are definitely long days filming, and, you know, they're always battling the weather on certain days, so we can make the days longer.
"But it's great to see the families come along and challenge themselves and work together.
"And, you know, I think that's I suppose the best thing about it is how it brings families together, and they work as a team, you learn a lot about each other, too."
