Rodgers says Celts are going to catch fire

- By RYAN MCDONALD

BRENDAN Rodgers insists it's only a matter of time before his stuttering Celtic stars hit top gear.

The misfiring Scottish champions haven't looked themselves this season after a chaotic summer transfer window and damaging Champions League exit to Kairat Almaty.

The Parkhead giants have drawn a blank on five occasions already and trail Derek McInnes’ pace-setting Hearts by two points in the league.

But after watching Daizen Maeda bury Motherwell with a last-minute winner and Kelechi Iheanacho deliver at the death at Rugby Park, Rodgers says the Hoops’ never-say-die attitude gives him plenty of optimism.

He said: “I just think it's going to be time. But once you're waiting for that, then you have to win games.
