CHRISTMAS is the perfect time to finally honour the nation’s 40million unfulfilled 'pint promises' after research by Guinness revealed how often we fail to follow through.

Despite 44% naming the pub as their ideal festive meetup spot, the study found that 78% of adults have broken at least one "let's grab a pint soon" pledge this year, with 43% admitting they made the promise ten or more times.
