Lions boss Andy to keep close eye on out-halves at Aviva

- BY DEREK FOLEY

FARR IS NEAR

ANDY FARRELL will be at Aviva Stadium with his measuring tape and dividers this evening trying to separate Sam Prendergast and England's Fin Smith.

Both 22-year-old No.10s, having started the season as Lions no-hopers, are very much in with a chance of being selected to travel to Australia when the squad is announced on Thursday.

It makes for an astonishing one-on-one duel amid what's likely to be a highly-charged, fast-paced Champions Cup semi-final.

Last season's semi between the same sides at Croke Park saw a James Lowe hat-trick put the Blues in control after 43 minutes - only for them to wilt and spend the last six minutes protecting a three-point lead as they ran out 20-17 winners.

"One of the learnings from us from that game is the need to continue to play and to attack the game," said Leinster skipper Caelan Doris.
