THIS is the first picture of the teenager who died following a violent stabbing in emergency accommodation on Wednesday.
ANALYSE Quest for evidence
It is suspected that Vadym Davydenko, 17, died after he was stabbed in the head, eyes, chest and hands in Donaghmede, north Dublin.
Yesterday, a Somalian youth, who is under the age of 18, was arrested on suspicion of murder.
The youth was arrested following the stabbing at Grattan Wood apartment complex, but was subsequently released from custody as he was sent to hospital.
A family friend posted on social media that Vadym's parents need help to repatriate him to Ukraine.
"Friends, I ask you for help. My son's friend was killed yesterday. The tragedy happened in the city of Dublin. In two weeks, Vadym would have turned 18.
"He flew to Ireland on Sunday and died from multiple stab wounds on Wednesday. The Consulate of Ukraine in Ireland takes on the organization of transportation, and all costs have to be covered by parents.
SAFETY
"This is close to 8 thousand euros. Parents don't have money. I ask everyone to help bring the child home."
At the time of publication the fundraising page had raised approximately €5,500.
