IRELAND'S biggest festival returns this weekend with 80,000 music lovers flocking to Stradbally.

Electric Picnic celebrates its 21st birthday this year and now enjoys international recognition.

One of the last parties of the summer season, it boasts the biggest names in music and attracts fans from the UK, Europe and the USA.

This year, the all-star lineup boasts more than 60 bands and artists, including our very own Hozier, plus Chappell Roan, Kings of Leon and Fatboy Slim, as well as controversial Belfast rappers Kneecap.

The rock 'n' roll circus will return to the 600-acre Co Laois estate for a weekend of unforgettable fun, whether rain or shine.

Here, MOLLY MCNIFFE, a seasoned “picnicker”, takes a look at the top acts of the three-day extravaganza and gives her top picks.

HOZIER

Irish singer-songwriter Hozier will kick off the weekend in style as he takes to the main stage tomorrow night.

The Wicklow star, 35, is expected to draw one of the biggest crowds with an emotional set and fans hoping for hits such as Take Me to Church, Someone New and Too Sweet.

CHAPPELL ROAN

Chappell Roan returns to Ireland after her sellout debut in the 3Olympia Theatre last September.

With tracks like Pink Pony Club and Hot To Go! topping international charts, the 'Midwest Princess' is a leading voice in the music industry for young girls and the LGBTQI+ community.
