CAPITAL'S GOLDEN GENERATION ARE NOW MAKING THEIR MARK ON THE GAME FROM DUGOUT

- BY PAUL KEANE

IT WAS inevitable that many of the Dublin players who won All-Irelands from 2011 on would wind up walking the sideline.

Now, what was initially a trickle is developing into a flow, with the news of Jonny Cooper's appointment as Under-20 manager on the back of his former teammate Ger Brennan taking on the senior job earlier this year, flanked by a number of his old comrades.

It's certain that more will surface in coaching and managerial roles, both inside and outside of Dublin, in the coming years, but here are the ones that have put their hands up so far.

GER BRENNAN

FOR many counties, there's an allure to securing the services of a former Dublin footballer but, the truth is, not too many of them have been spectacularly successful in their jaunts outside of the capital. Brennan is very much an exception.

Having been involved with Carlow and then managed Sarsfields in Kildare, he took on the Louth job in difficult circumstances after Mickey Harte defected to Derry two years ago.
