Air delivery is under scrutiny with new bill

DRONES delivering doner kebabs might no longer fly through Dublin's skies as a bill to regulate commercial drone use has been brought before the Dail.

The proposed legislation would require commercial drone operators, such as food delivery services, to have planning permission.

Green Party leader Roderic O'Gorman tabled the bill, saying while drones have value, there have to be rules about how they work.

This comes after a public meeting last week called for regulations on businesses using drones.

It was organised by Drone Action Dublin 15, after a drone delivery service began in the area over a year ago.
