Candidates facing up to scrutiny

A WEEK will have felt like a very long time in politics for the three presidential candidates as they continue their campaigns.

All three have this week come under the type of scrutiny that presidential races are renowned for, and will be hoping none of it will prove to be a knockout blow for their hopes.

Fianna Fail’s Jim Gavin was making a big play on his military career credentials, but has had to tone down a fair bit of that over accusations he was politicising our Defence Forces.
