Saliba to sign new deal. “* Now Arteta wants Saka to commit his future

- BY TOM CANTON

MIKEL ARTETA admits he would love Bukayo \Saka to follow William Saliba's lead by pled his long-term future to Arsenal.

Courted by Real Madrid, centre-back Saliba (circle) has turned his back on the Bernabeu by agreeing a new five-year deal at the Emirates. The defender's current deal was due to expire in 2027, and the same applies to Saka (above, left).

But having already tied up Gabriel to a new contract in the summer, Arteta admitted making it a hat-trick of new deals for three of his star performers would provide proof players of such calibre believe they can achieve their ambitions with the Gunners.

Asked about the prospect of a similar show of faith from Saka, Arteta replied:

T would love that.

“From everything I know, he is a player that is extremely happy, and proud to have the role he has at the football club.
