Sesko close to giving Fletcher a dream start before Jaidon pounces on familiar frailties
IT'S difficult to imagine the mild-mannered Darren Fletcher having the hairdryer treatment in his managerial locker, like his mentor Sir Alex Ferguson infamously did.
But whatever he said to his Manchester United stars at half time — it almost worked.
As job interviews go, this one couldn't have started much worse for interim boss Fletcher. United found themselves 1-0 down inside the opening 13 minutes to a Burnley side which hadn't won a game since October.
But a stunning comeback after the break saw Benjamin Sesko score twice as United threatened to win what was, on paper at least, an entirely winnable game.
The goals were Sesko’s first in three months. And this fact alone makes Fletcher some sort of managerial genius!
