Ankle tag won't work if rapist leaves Germany
Irish Daily Mirror
|September 17, 2025
CHRISTIAN Brueckner will be released from prison today - and he may be able to flee Germany.
-
The convicted rapist and paedophile, 49, will leave Sehnde prison after serving a seven-year sentence for raping a 72-year-old woman while he was in the Algarve.
He will be subjected to release conditions, including wearing a GPS ankle tag to monitor his whereabouts.
But Brueckner's lawyer, Friedrich Fuelscher, yesterday claimed the tag would be useless if his client decided he wanted to leave Germany.
Mr Fuelscher said: "This ankle cuff is virtually ineffective once he crosses the German border."
