The second day of the Festival of Globe (FOG) Idol 2025 auditions took place on Sunday, June 22nd, at the Saraswati Hall in the Fremont Hindu Temple.
It was a brilliant showcase of local talent, with 21 new participants across all age groups.
FOG Idol Chair and judge Alka Bhatnagar inaugurated the event with a beautiful rendition of "Jai Ganesha jai Ganesha Deva, Mata Jaaki Parvati Pita Mahadeva..." in her signature melodious voice.
Emcee Lakshmi lyer also opened with a Carnatic classical Geetham, "Shri Gananatha Sindura Varna...".
After the obsequies were paid, the emcee called upon Angela Tirado, 2024 FOG Idol contestant. Angela had truly blown everyone away with her phenomenal voice last year. In addition, she sang atop a truck as part of the FOG Idol walking group at the India Day Parade.
Angela shared her musical journey. At the age of eight, she joined the choir even though the minimum age was twelve. She amazed people with her rendition of "Ave Maria", a Latin devotional dedicated to Mother Mary.
The judges and the FOG idol team presented her with a certificate for her outstanding performance.
K P Maheshwari, Chair of FOG India Day Parade, came up on stage to announce this year's upcoming Parade on August 17th in Fremont and invited everyone to watch and participate.
