Wellens gets a new job as NRL assistant

FORMER St Helens boss Paul Wellens has been appointed assistant coach at NRL outfit North Queensland Cowboys ahead of the 2026 season.
The 45-year-old has secured his next gig less than four weeks after his departure from the newly-named The BrewDog Stadium, having spent three years in charge of the Saints.
He previously served as an assistant under Justin Holbrook and Kristian Woolf during a time of unprecedented success for the club, as they won four successive Super League Grand Finals.
