Wane should stay at England helm
Hull Daily Mail
|November 12, 2025
SHAUN Wane joined a list of illustrious coaches unable to beat Australia on the international stage, with England losing the first Ashes series in 22 years 3-0 on home soil.
The head coach insists he is the right man to lead the national side into the Rugby League World Cup next year, but questions remain up in the air over his future after a lacklustre series - including just two tries scored in three games against the Kangaroos.
But should Wane remain in the position - having been in charge since 2020 - or is it now time to look for a fresh start? That is the question.
I can see both sides of the argument. Ultimately, Wane failed to deliver a single England win over old rivals Australia in a highly-anticipated Ashes series. But he's not the first, and he won't be the last.
Limited preparation certainly didn't help.
