SPORTS STARS JOIN FUNDRAISING WALK

ORGANISERS of a charity walk have thanked a trio of sports stars for joining them on their journey.
Former boxing legends Tony Booth and Tommy Coyle joined ex-Premier League midfielder Nick Barmby and scores of hardy walkers on the ten-mile trek from Beverley and Hull, all to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
A close friend of the walkers has Alzheimer's and, seeing the toll it is taking on all of her family, the group decided to put their determination into action, lacing up their walking boots and arming themselves with collection buckets for the walk. And the walk was such a success that they now hope to make it an annual event.
