Salford senior stars in 'non-play threat'

SALFORD Red Devils' senior players have informed the club and the Rugby Football League of their intent to not play in Friday's Super League match against Leeds Rhinos.
-
Amid ongoing uncertaint surrounding Salford's current financial position, members of the club's senior playing group have reached the difficult decision to not play, and have now made their stance clear to figures at all levels of the game.
It is the understanding of All Out Rugby League that the playing group now insist they will not play while they continue to be left in the dark about the club's current position. The decision was made late last week, with the players agreeing they would play against Castleford Tigers on Sunday, but would not do the same the week after.
Head coach Paul Rowley has been made aware of the situation, as has Salford director Paul King, and the ownership group consisting of Saia Kailahi and Curtis Brown.
The Rugby Football League's CEO, Tony Sutton, has also been informed of the players' position.
