Questions over the loyalty of Nigel Farage

This is a major political scandal that has only just begun to unfold.

We already know that Gill betrayed his country. He has pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to taking payments from pro-Kremlin Ukrainian politician Oleg Voloshyn between December 2018 and July 2019, in return for making European Parliament statements sympathetic to Russia and critical of the EU.

Reform UK leaders initially claimed Farage barely knew Gill, but later admitted that was untrue. Farage himself has since said he knew Gill “for a very long time” from their UKIP days. Gill was a senior figure in UKIP, the Brexit Party and Reform UK, and publicly described Farage as a “friend and mentor”. Evidence from multiple sources shows they worked closely over many years.
