CARTWRIGHT GIVES CANDID ASSESSMENT OF HULL'S DEFEAT TO SAINTS
John Cartwright stuck his chest out and aired his Hull FC pride after a valiant 16-10 defeat at St Helens, but insists his side still aren't 'happy.
The understrength Black and Whites gave it everything against the Saints.
They were already up against it after some big injuries during last week's win against Leigh Leopards, notably John Asiata and Will Pryce, with the side dealt a further blow in the opening minutes as Jed Cartwright went off.
But they refused to give in after going 8-0 down early on and almost clawed back an unlikely victory.
The game finished two tries apiece, with Kyle Feldt's penalty goals the difference, with Cartwright providing a raw and honest assessment post-match.
"I've got nothing but admiration for them," he said. "They deserved to win but you don't always get what you deserve.
"I'm just proud to be a part of it. It's growing, and there are a lot of disappointed boys in there.
