Over 96 per cent of pupils secured first-choice place

PARENTS and carers across the East Riding are finding out which primary school their children will attend in September.

The proportion of children in the East Riding who have been awarded their first preference of primary or infant school for September 2025 is 96.3 per cent.

This year, East Riding Council received 2,800 applications from parents and carers, and 2,695 (96.3 per cent) have received their first choice of school. 2,768 children (98.8 per cent) have been allocated a place at one of the three schools parent/carers could name as their first, second or third preference.
