CITY of Hull Street Angels, the dedicated volunteer group providing crucial support and safety to vulnerable people on the city's streets, has been honoured with the King's Award for Voluntary Service.

The award is the highest recognition for volunteer organisations in the UK.

Since its inception, City of Hull Street Angels has become an essential part of the city's nighttime economy support network, offering help to vulnerable people in need. This can be anything from assisting with safe journeys home to the crucial role of diverting people from emergency services, allowing paramedics, police, and healthcare teams to focus their lifesaving efforts on higher-risk emergencies.

This accolade, often described as the MBE for volunteer groups, celebrates outstanding contributions to community wellbeing and social support. The award highlights the tireless commitment of City of Hull Street Angels volunteers to ensuring safe, compassionate, and practical assistance during late-night hours across Hull.
