FORMER England captain Sam Tomkins has echoed the sentiments of Hull KR head coach Willie Peters, insisting Mikey Lewis' new five-year deal to remain at Sewell Group Craven Park is "huge" for Super League.

The reigning Man of Steel - in contention to retain his title against Leeds' Jake Connor and Wigan's Jai Field - has signed a new contract extension through to the end of the 2030 season, believed not to include an NRL release clause.
Lewis was already under contract until the end of 2028, but Rovers have moved early to secure their superstar playmaker for an additional two years, warding off growing interest from down under.
The 24-year-old says he's aiming to build his own legacy at the Robins, having already helped the side to Challenge Cup and League Leaders' Shield triumphs this year with eyes now firmly set on the ultimate prize at Old Trafford and completing a historic treble.
Two-time Man of Steel and former fullback Tomkins, 36, believes the new deal is a major boost for the entire competition in the northern hemisphere.
Lewis was also one of only two players to recently retain their places in the Super League Dream Team from 2024, alongside Wigan's prolific try-scorer Liam Marshall.
