CRAVEN PARK CLASH HAS HIGH STAKES FOR BOTH CROSS-CITY RIVALS
-
There are three words that flood through the minds of all at Hull FC and Hull KR on derby week: 'Bring it on.'
Locking horns for over 120 years, both clubs get what this passionate rugby league rivalry is all about and are determined to grab hold of the all-important bragging rights.
Those rights have been with KR for the last five affairs - two of which came at the MKM earlier this season - with Hull last tasting a derby victory back in July 2023, a game played at Craven Park.
That record isn’t lost on either, who know how big the occasion is and what's at stake.
Because this derby isn’t just about bragging rights, far from it, with the champagne on ice.
At the very least Hull KR could take a big step towards the League Leaders’ Shield, to add to the Challenge Cup which is already safely stashed in the trophy cabinet.
But the clash, the 249th derby meeting, is also massive for Hull, who need a win to keep their own playoff hopes alive.
