The future is looking peachy for Ania Magliano. She talks to MARION MCMULLEN about Taskmaster, trains and touring
-
I remember a 10-week run felt like ages, such a long time, and it was really scary how fast it went. I had enough knowledge of myself that I know that I can get competitive, but it varied episode to episode how competitive I actually felt. I loved the team tasks.
Phil Ellis and Sanjeev Bhaskar made me laugh so much. I knew Phil from the comedy circuit, but I did not know Sanjeev. He's a really great improviser and you could see that in the studio.
I think every day of filming there was at least one point when I was crying with laughter. It kind of shows how special Taskmaster is ...and I got paid to do it.
Do you get recognised much from the show?
(Laughs) I had a girl stop me who loved Taskmaster and had also gone out with one of my exes, so we had a really long gossip about them. Taskmaster fans are really nice and I am also a fan and watched it before I went on it.
Sometimes, if I’m out on a Sunday, I think people must recognise me... or I have something on my face. Someone even shouted out about the joke of me being Greg's daughter.
Do you have any souvenirs from the show?
I was always trying to take stuff. Every time I did a task I tried to take something out of the room. I've got some chopsticks, I’m still not sure what they were for, and I've got a framed photo they gave us of our team on the last day of filming and that sits on my desk.
