Gradings will continue to determine Super League participation – with tweaks

INTERIM RFL Chief Executive Abi Ekoku has stated the gradings system will continue to determine Super League participation, though a revised formula has been implemented with greater emphasis on financial stability and on-field results.

Ekoku informed a press conference on Tuesday in Wakefield that the RFL Council had endorsed the continuation of the system through the end of 2026 - ensuring the highest-graded teams receive automatic entry to the top division.
Any club achieving Grade A status is assured a Super League place, with remaining spots filled by the top-ranked Grade B clubs.
