THE BIG PROP IS STILL STRIVING TO BE BETTER

- By DAN TOMLINSON

“BE happy, but never satisfied” was a famous quote from Bruce Lee, but it’s one pretty apt for Hull FC prop forward Herman Ese’ese too.

“The 29-year-old Kiwi is perhaps in the best form of his career to date, but he’s still striving for improvement, to be better, and to get to the next level.

That sort of determination is why the best are the best, and there’s no doubting Ese’ese is one of the best. In fact, when the Man of Steel leaderboard went into the dark back in June, Ese’ese was second in the list to Jake Connor and the highest forward by far.

That is a true reflection of his form this year - form which saw a new long-term contract secured and his status as arguably the best prop in Super League tied up.

“T’ve been really happy with how I've been going, but there’s always room for improvement) Ese’ese, speaking to Hull Live, said. “I still want to keep growing and keep getting better.

“I want to finish off the season strong. Hopefully we can get that top six spot and then turn it up again. I want to take my performances to the next level.
