PARTS of an East Yorkshire road are set to close during a six-week project to improve a road near Easington.

East Riding Council is to invest £250,000 to upgrade Out Newton Road in Out Newton, including resurfacing bends, patching parts of the road surface, strengthening its edges and replacing damaged kerbing. The project is due to start on Monday, September 1. A diversion will be in place for drivers.
