35-YEAR-OLD JAILED FOR 12 YEARS

- By MARK NAYLOR

A PORNOGRAPHY addict who violently raped a woman and was later condemned by her as "disgusting" and "the worst of the worst" has been jailed.

Jamie Ackroyd confessed to being "hooked on porn" and he admitted: "It was all I thought about. It was all about sex," Hull Crown Court heard.

Ackroyd, 35, formerly of Bridlington, denied rape but he was convicted by a jury after a trial following four hours and 32 minutes of deliberations.

He was cleared of sexual assault and assault by penetration. At an earlier hearing in June last year, Ackroyd admitted separate offences of sexual assault and assault by penetration on the woman.

Stephen Robinson, prosecuting, said that Ackroyd told police during interview that he "would never dream of doing" the things that had been alleged against him. "I know when someone says 'No, it means 'No," he said.
