Darren battles on with injury in his marathon finish

HE JOINED TEAM THAT RAISED £42K FOR CHILDREN'S CHARITY
A HULL man is part of a team that has raised more than £42,000 for a children's charity in the London Marathon - and he bravely made the finish line with a calf injury.
Darren Sims BEM, 52, from the Avenues, was one of five runners in Daz's Rock 4 Charity team for Variety which fundraises projects such as adapted minibuses for SEND pupils.
He said: “When I have been to the schools who receive them, they are so excited to be able to go out to the seaside and different activities. It is quite emotional, really.”
