Narrow defeat for Bangor 1876 in League Cup final

BANGOR 1876 concluded the 2024-25 season with a defeat in the Northern Final of the Welsh Blood Service League Cup against JD Cymru North runners-up Airbus.

The game at the Go Goodwins Stadium in Llandudno got underway with drizzle falling. In the second minute, Bangor had the first chance when Dylan Summers-Jones shot narrowly wide from the edge of the box.

Airbus settled into the game and came close to opening the scoring when the ball broke to James Davies inside the box, but he just missed the target as Bangor appealed for offside.

Davies had another chance for Airbus just after the midway point of the opening period, heading just wide following a quick counter attack.

After 28 minutes, Bangor took the lead. Joe Sullivan swung in a cross from the right wing and Liam Morris headed in at the back post.

There were few chances of note in the remainder of the first half, and Bangor went into half-time in front.
