Temp dips after strong winds in Delhi

A day after the city recorded its warmest March day in three years, the maximum temperature eased slightly on Thursday on account of strong surface winds, but continued to remain above normal levels.

The maximum temperature at base weather station Safdarjung settled at 36.4 degrees Celsius (C)-four degrees above normal for this time of the year, but lesser than the 38.9°C recorded a day earlier. The relief was due to strong surface winds of up to 25 km/hr, officials said.
Forecasts show that similar strong winds are likely on Friday and Saturday too, leading to a further dip in maximum temperature, which may hover between 32-34°C, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said.
