Search continues for unexploded shells

Security forces along the line of control (LOC) have been scanning the area for unexploded mortar shells and projectiles fired by Pakistan between May 7 and May 10, after India responded to terror attacks in Pahalgam by strikes across the LoC on the morning of May 7, and then responded to several waves of attacks by Pakistan.
The two countries announced the cessation of hostilities on Saturday and security forces are trying to ensure that the several unexploded shells lying around -the result of heavy shelling from across the border that claimed 25 lives- do not cause any further damage. On Sunday, police defused five mortar shells in Samba, including one near the deputy commissioner's office.
