In poll-bound Raj, PM sharpens attack on Cong

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday raised the poll pitch for the Rajasthan elections as he targeted the state Congress unit over infighting and accused the chief minister Ashok Gehlot-led government of slowing down the pace of development in the election-bound state.

Addressing a public meeting in the state's Bikaner district, the PM said that rival camps within the state Congress were busy fighting each other, an allusion to the power tussle between Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot.
"In the last four years, the members of the Congress fought against each other... to strengthen their own camps. MLAs from one camp have the freedom to indulge in loot so they don't defect to the other camp... all ministers are fighting... and amid all this the CM is busy saving his son's future. He is not bothered about the sons and daughters of Rajasthan," he said as he marked his fifth visit to the state this year.
